It all started when…
... thirteen strangers met in Switzerland and seven strangers met in Batticoloa. They quickly became one team, united by the objective to build a Learning Center in Batticaloa.
This is a truly international team, with seven different countries represented in the group. They are all part of the BOOKBRIDGE Capability Program, designed to give individuals a real life experience setting up and running a social enterprise.
The group worked together from October 2017 until March 2018, under the leadership of Rega to develop the Active Learning Center based on the needs of the Batticaloan community. In early February Salome Grissard agreed to provide funding to establish the Center.
It all became a reality on 28 March 2018, when the Opening Ceremony of the Active Learning Center Batticaloa was opened. Check out the "Courses" and "Library" sections of this website for information about what is available.
